The Dictionary of Rhode Island History - is a new approach to the study of United States History from state to region, to nation¿documenting Rhode Island History from the bottom up. With over 300,000 words on people, places, and events, it will be the largest single reference source on Rhode Island History ever published. The Dictionary of Rhode Island History that includes the following sections:Introduction to Rhode Island History by a noted historian on each Rhode Island's history.Geography and Topography - This section describes Rhode Island's distinctive physical properties.Early History - Begins before recorded Rhode Island's and continues up until early explorations.History - An essay beginning with the earliest explorers and documenting the Rhode Island's history through contemporary times.Chronology - Historical information about the state displayed in an easy-to-read timeline that begins before recorded history.Dictionary - Alphabetically arranged articles of people, places, and events that are important to the history of the Rhode Island.Bibliography and Index
