The Dictionary of Maine History - is a new approach to the study of United States History from state to region, to nation¿documenting Maine History from the bottom up.With over 300,000 words on people, places, and events, it will be the largest single reference source on Maine History ever published.The Dictionary of Maine History that includes the following sections:Introduction to Maine History by a noted historian on each Maine's history.Geography and Topography - This section describes Maine's distinctive physical properties.Early History - Begins before recorded Maine's and continues up until early explorations.History - An essay beginning with the earliest explorers and documenting the Maine's history through contemporary times.Chronology - Historical information about the state displayed in an easy-to-read timeline that begins before recorded history.Dictionary - Alphabetically arranged articles of people, places, and events that are important to the history of the Main History.Bibliography and Index
